Massage
Massage is an invitation to be in your body.

The goal of massage is to restore normal muscle tone, reduce stress, and to
produce a sense of well being
. Massage therapy does this by manipulating the
soft tissues of the body.

Benefits of massage include:
  • Deep relaxation and stress reduction
  • Increased body awareness
  • Relief of muscle tension and stiffness
  • Better circulation and improved posture
  • Aided digestion and detoxification
  • Prevention of new injuries and quicker recovery from old injuries
  • Improved range of motion
  • Reduced inflammation
  • Relaxed state of alertness
  • Reduced mental stress
  • Increased capacity for clearer thinking
  • And on an emotional level--satisfying the need for caring, enhanced well-
    being and self image

By receiving
regular treatments of massage, the ability to respond to stress is
enhanced while invigorating your physical well being.

All modalities have the
emphasis on being pain free, sometimes the deepest
work is not deep.

Areas of Massage Specialty
Swedish massage promotes overall relaxation through various hand
manipulations. A light or deep pressure relaxes the muscles and improves
circulation to the surface vessels. Swedish massage may include generalized
relaxation, dissolution of soft tissue adhesions, and improve circulation, which
may speed healing and reduce swelling from injury.

Sports/ Orthopedic massage is a specialized, combination of elements of sports
and medical massage, to provide a pain free massage used for assessing
injuries and treating them, it improves performance and recovery time. Emphasis
is placed on understanding both the injury and its rehabilitation criteria. Three
basic elements are assessment, treatment and rehabilitation.

Neuromuscular Massage and or Trigger point therapy breaks the stress-tension-
stress pain cycle by eliminating trigger points and is used to treat soft tissue pain
in the body. Its focus in on creating balance between the muscular and nervous
system.

Deep Tissue separates muscles to allow them to work separately and more
efficiently. It is used to stimulate circulation, increase lymphatic flow, relax
muscles spasms, relieve pain, and increase range of motion and flexibility. It
helps with chronic muscular pain and injury rehabilitation and reduces
inflammation related pain. It is usually integrated with other massage techniques.

Myofascial Release loosens adhesions within the fascia of the musculoskeletal
system aiding in freer movement of individual muscles, through the application of
sustained pressure and movement. It is effective in relieving chronic pain issues.

Reiki is a hands on modality to work on the body’s energy field. As the harmonic
flow of energy is strengthened, with the client and practioner, healing occurs
through the return of physical, mental and spiritual balance.
